Welcome to Chesapeake Bay Sight Foundation, a nonprofit committed to funding research into eye diseases and promoting awareness about blindness and its causes. We believe that by working together, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals and families who are affected by these diseases. Our Mission
The mission of the Chesapeake Bay Sight Foundation is to raise funds for vision research, in hopes of developing innovative methods of preventing, treating, and curing visual impairments. Due to the many retinal degenerative eye diseases currently affecting millions of men, women, and children throughout the world, it is our pleasure to do our part in ensuring a future sighted world for all!
What We Do
We are passionate about raising money to find cures for blindness
We have raised funds for blindness research through several fundraisers such as Dining in the Dark, Silent Auctions, Sail for Sight, and Mid-Shore Community Foundation donors. At this time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Johns Hopkins / Wilmer Eye Institute Research Team of Dr. Mandeep Singh are working diligently to find a cure for all retinal degenerative eye diseases. It is paramount that we continue funding the intellectuals who are donating their lives to find a cure. We will work tirelessly to do our part in finding a cure for blindness, and ensuring a sighted world for all!

Our Founder
My name is Colleen Sheehan.
My mother was one of the first people in the US to be diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa in 1973, the leading cause of inherited blindness for 1 in 4000 Americans. After watching my mother lose her vision completely, and having been diagnosed myself, I knew that I would do anything to find a cure for Retinitis Pigmentosa and other degenerative eye diseases. In 2010, I founded Chesapeake Bay Sight Foundation in honor of my mother, so that other people do not have to go through what she did.
